Thank you for a perfect accomodation for my husband and I while he was attending business meetings. We loved the uniqueness of this beautiful hotel in busy downtown Ogden.

Most of all, I appreciated the incredible kindess and hospitality of Lan, the office manager at the time of our check in. She certainly went the extra mile in helping me reserve a very comfortable and convenient room for us. She deserves to be recognized for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely reserve at Ben Lomond every time we come to Ogden. We will also tell all our many friends about Lan and this wonderful hotel. Thank you for a most relaxing, pleasurable stay in Ogden because of our stay at your hotel. Also, the breakfast was delicious.

We went for my husbands birthday for dinner at Restaurant 1107, as I was looking for the restaurant I started looking at the hotel and that is when I decided to book the room. Restaurant 1107 is a GEM at the top of the hotel. We went to dinner and with it being a Wed. night it was not busy our service was great and the food was wonderful. I am willing to say it is one of the best restaurants in Ogden. The view was great and the food and ambience is worth many trips back. I am sure if this restaurant is mentioned you will get more locals.

Probably the best breakfast that I can remember at a Choice Hotel. Plenty of flavor and seasoning. Not the more common bland fare at most hotels. Also the food service staff was very knowledgeable of breakfast item ingredients when asked.

Room was nice and we enjoyed the early 1900s style of the hotel.

“Great Service and Location!!!”

Lashelle and Tabor at the front desk were terrific! Ben Lomond Suites was the first hotel that I "checked out" as I was looking for options to have a surprise quiet getaway with my wife. I asked Lashelle and Tabor about room types, rates, and location of rooms with a view. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and anxious to help me decide if that was the hotel for me. I asked to see some of the rooms they had suggested. They called the housekeeping supervisor who immediately met me in the lobby. She was very pleasant and helpful as she showed me 4 different types of rooms. By the time I returned to the front desk, I knew that I was going to be spending a quiet relaxing night at this hotel. The rates are hard to beat for the size of room and comfortable bed. Theaters, arcades, restaurants, and shopping...all within minutes. Lashelle was also very helpful in helping me choose a great place to eat sushi..she was spot on...it was delicious. When we checked out the next day, Tabor was at the front desk and was just as friendly and helpful as the day before. My wife and I will definitely return for another quiet weekend getaway! Thank you to the friendly staff of Ben Lomond Suites Historic Hotel!!! :-) Mark & Cheryl
Room Tip: Rooms facing west ending in "01" very large and great view.

It was a very nice, older hotel. Getting to the highway was very easy. We got in late and left early so we did not get to see all the hotel had to offer.

10/12/12

This was my first stay at the hotel. The room was on the 7th floor. It overlooked both parts of the city and the mountains. The room was comfortable and clean, and the heating and air conditioning was both effective and fairly quiet. The room was updated fairly recently, so the bathroom was appointed nicely, and the room had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The room also came with free wifi, which was of good speed, and a complimentary breakfast, which was good. It included bacon, eggs, potatoes, yogurt, granola, bagels, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, and hot water for tea and hot cereal.

9/28/12

Though the two-mile drive to downtown Ogden from I-84 is a bit dusty, the hotel is a delight. The rooms are clean and spacious, and furnished with amazing period furniture including sofas, chairs, desks, and armoires concealing TVs. Our king-size bed was very comfortable. All the architectural details of this historic hotel are intact, and the interior spaces of the lobby and restaurant are positively exuberant. The breakfast buffet featured the standard fare, except that the scrambled eggs, potatoes, and bacon actually tasted great for a change. Finally, the staff was excellent. We will stay at the Ben Lomond Suites every time we visit Ogden.
Pros: Breakfast, furnishings, spaciousness, beautiful architecture.Wedding Reception in Ogden BallroomLocation: Many travelers prefer to be near the Interstate, but this was worth the extra drive.

Here is the English translation if you do not speak German:

As we entered the Ben Lomond Hotel, one could guess at the Grand Hotel of the past. Many of the historic details are still visible. But the history could be preserved even better. The room was very spacious. There was a separate large room with sitting area and desk. The bedroom had very comfortable bedding. From our room we had a great view of Historic 25th Street. It was a very good value. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.

We stayed at the Ben Lomond Suites this week for a couple of nights and thought it was a nice hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfast in the morning was great. My daughter and I recently stayed at your hotel (3/16 - 19). Not only were we given a fantastic room (#310 - 2 bdrm suite), we were treated with the absolute best care from every employee we encountered. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was hot and plentiful, with lots to choose from, very good. It was especially nice to find there were so many superb restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. The front desk sells discounted lift tickets to the local ski resorts. The staff all were very friendly and helpful. The covered parking was a bonus. I highly recommend staying here.

We are locals looking for a romantic getaway alternative to Wendover. The room was very affordable, huge with a kitchen, sitting room, two tvs and excellent wifi. The bed was very comfortable and the room was the perfect temperature and it was soo quiet all night. The front desk was extra friendly offering us discounts at the nearby restaurants on Historic 25th Street. I had booked this hotel based on TA reviews and I agree with all of the good ones. The breakfast was great with a wide variety of breads, oatmeal, etc. Also hot eggs, potatoes, and meat! I am already recommending it to everyone.

I am very satisfied with my stay at The Ben Lomond. The hotel staff was very helpful with any questions regarding the area and offered me a lot of discounts to restaurants in the area. Not only did they upgrade my room to an executive suite, but they also offered me a free pass to the Gold's Gym up the street which is an awesome facility. The breakfast every morning was simple and tasteful with some healthy options. Parking is quick and free as well. The rooms are nice, bed is comfortable and the shower even had a jacuzzi in it. I travel a lot for business and this type of service and class of people is tough to find anywhere anymore. I highly recommend The Ben Lomond for your next stay in Ogden, UT.

This is a historic hotel where the rooms have been substantially remodeled. Its located at the head of the 24th St. "cool zone" in Ogden (I mean Ogden is great for skiing and outdoors, but the town is a bit homely), where there are numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and shopping all within easy walking distance. Some of the best sushi I've ever had was on 24th St! The room was HUGE and very comfortable. Beautiful view of the mountains. Staff was courteous and eager to please. Nice breakfast in the morning. My experience would have been enhanced if the shower was capable of going hot, and not just warm. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Spent our first night of honeymoon here. The Ben Lomond is a hotel that has a lot of history tied to it and a place I've always wanted to visit. Our room was nice and quiet. I had been told that we would have a jetted tub in our room but we didn't. Other than that...it was a nice place to spend the night. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly.

Must see
Historic 25th St shops and clubs. Union Train station at the far end of 25th St. has a nice restaurant and museum. Also, The Junction (movie theater, indoor ski diving, indoor surfing and bowling/arcade on Washington and 23rd ST (two blocks north).

Dining
Lee's Mongolian was great! 28th and Washington (3 blocks south). We also enjoyed the Union Grill at Union Station.

From the time I walked in the door to the time I departed, the staff was outstanding in their service and seeing to my needs.

My room was clean, spacious, and quiet and most of all, I really had two rooms- one for sleeping in a truly comfortable bed or working at a desk, and the other with a sitting area with two nice chairs, coffee table and included another TV, refrigerator, sink, microwave, and cupboard. The only thing lacking was a foot stool on which I could put my feet up when I sat in the chairs.

My bathroom was clean and spacious with a jet tub, hairdryer and great lighting.

Breakfast was included and was a full meal with items such as eggs, bacon, sliced fruit, cereals, toast, coffee, and juice. The items that needed to be warm were warm and the items that needed to be cool were cool. Great service and food.

And one of the best parts of the Ben Lomond Suites is the historical side - the architecture is fascinating - the ceilings are beautiful tin-type and plaster, the marble stairs is nothing less than elegant and the brass railings in the elevators are wonderful. The stories that the wall could tell would probably fill a book - several books.

I was within walking distance of the Eccles Center for a conference, the inside skydiving and activity center, and a quick shuttle ride to Powder Mountain and Ski Basin for wet-your-lips powder skiing.

I loved my stay with the folks at Ben Lomond and am most certainly looking forward to my next visit! I'd recommend it to my mom!

We were looking for relaxing and romantic getaway. This hotel really hit the spot. Not only was the interior beautiful, the staff was great to work with and took care of everything we could possibly want or need. The room was perfect. We had a suite with a tv and kitchen in one room and the bedroom adjoining it. We both slept well and were very comfortable. We had a nice view from our room, plenty of space, and the biggest jetted tub I have ever seen! Breakfast was great. The massage service at the hotel was great. Overall- I highly recommend this hotel!

Twice daily shuttles leave each morning for Powder Mountain and Snowbasin. For four days straight they were extremely punctual, and they headed directly to the mountain aside from a pickup or two at nearby hotels. Friendly drivers. Definitely did not miss having a car.

Meals weren't a problem because breakfast was provided each morning (eggs, meat, potatoes + continental) and bars/restaurants were a block or two away. Town fit the bill, though one shouldn't expect a "ski town" (e.g. t-shirt shops, high end boutiques). Besides a couple blocks between the hotel and the train station, Ogden bars and restaurants are pretty local and there was the occasional impoverished person at street corners.

Executive suite was nice, clean, spacious. Reliable internet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Access to skiing on par with other places in Utah.

Excellent stay at the Ben Lomand in Ogden Utah. Lovely historic property, clean recently updated rooms all come with a full size living room adjacent to bedroom. Perfect area to spread out gear and head to the slopes. Upgraded to the Executive suite- what a bargain! Room included fantastic view of downtown, king size pillow top bed, fine linens, mini fridge, microwave and a jacuzzi tub perfect after a long day on the slopes. Shuttle bus to Powder Mountain or free covered parking - great transportation options to the mountains 30 minutes away. Nice fitness center- all equipment in working order including an excellent treadmill. Lending library was a nice touch. Located on historic 25th street, and a few blocks from the Salomon center- plenty to do and places to eat in walking distance. FULL breakfast bar was fantastic- particularly breakfast burrito day! Super friendly staff- cannot say enough how happy I was at this property. Top notch travel experience- Hotel is located directly across the street from Ogden City Hall. For the holiday season they have a charming Christmas Village. Area business sponsor the winter wonderland of lights and seasonal exhibits including a Christmas tree, Santa's Castle and eats and treats at the Municipal Gardens. Hotel is expertly maintained and in excellent working order given it was built in the early 1900's. Brass railings and crystal chandeliers in the lobby remind you - you're in a very special place. I loved this hotel.

We picked the Ben Lomond over the Marriott for atmosphere, views, price and free covered parking. The receptionist surprised us with an upgrade to an executive suite. The suites are huge, with great 270 degree mountain and city views, two TVs and a (smallish) spa tub. I have to admit that the upgrade influenced my review, but even the standard rooms all have nice views and include a substantial American and Continental breakfast buffet just off the grand lobby. Unfortunately, this historic hotel has suffered a "Radisson-style" makeover in the 80's. Now independent once again, I hope they manage to turn this grand old hotel into an affordable boutique hotel! Three thumbs up.

Travelled all day and was happy to get to hotel. Good things are that the hotel is quiet -very as it is not on the radar. Took a walk to downtown eating area, 5 min walk and had a number of choices. We ate outside on a quite patio. Food was fine, not great. Price was very reasonable and location and atmosphere was great as we were tired and needed something quite and pleasant. Hotel room was large and comfortable. Old hotel, so has some issues. Nothing bad though. Breakfast was good and came with room. I figure that takes 15 dollars off.

I want to compliment your staff for exceptional customer service. Lan at the registration desk went "above and beyond" to make sure all of our needs were met.

We would be pleased to return to your establishment based on your staff even more than your lovely facility.

Sincerely,

Shelley C.

It is beautiful inside, and my room is huge and very clean.  The breakfast runs from 6:30 to ? but I am at work at 6:00 so I asked if there would be anything out earlier that I could grab on my way out.  She brought me a bag about 6:15 last night with a bagel, cream cheese, yogurt, 2 tangerines, and an apple and said she would have one for me every day!  There is a small fridge, microwave, sink but no dishes.  The livingroom is huge with a TV and also a TV in the bedroom.  I asked if there was a Walgreens close and she looked it up and wrote the address down for me.  They are very accommodating and friendly.  I would love to stay here again.  Thought you would like to know what I thought.

I had a great experience at Ben Lomond for an extended stay. I felt comfortable and safe staying at this hotel. My room/neighbors were quiet and peaceful. The desk people were friendly and helpful. Room service was prompt and respectful. My room was always cleaned well.

I would stay here again if my circumstances allow.

Because it was my first time in the hotel, they upgraded my stay to an executive suite. It was big and clean and it had more than I needed. I had so much fun and I did rest like a baby. I felt so pampered. It is right by downtown and close to everything else. The only down I found was the fitness center which was two machines in a small room with a terrrible color on the walls. They did have towels, a tv and books though.

My colleages and I greatly enjoyed our 3 week stay. While not "luxurious", the Ben Lomond has most, if not all, traveler needs covered. Extremely close to the downtown strip, it only lacks a pool and a way to get one's bags to the lobby. Designed for time when there was likely a team of bellhops, this is one thing that would help. The staff was great and daily breakfast a great sendoff into one's day. I highly recommend.

Where do I start? The room was huge! Had reserved a room with 2 queen beds but when we opened the door the nice lady at the front desk had upgraded us to a suite! Sweet!! That made our teenager Most happy- her own room for the first time in a week of traveling.
When we asked for a dinner suggestion she handed us a coupon for free dessert at a very nice Bistro within walking distance. The motel is downtown and its a Lovely town. Our reason for staying here was the train museum and it was just blocks away. If I am ever in Ogden again we will definitely stay here!

The staff was very excellent!!! They were so nice to us. We got in late and got right up to our room. The rooms are very roomy. They have a sitting area and two beds it was very nice. The next morning as we were getting ready to leave the cleaning staff knocked on our door and with young kids ready to leave they were very loud. I got a phone call from the cleaning staff asking if I wanted them to clean. I said yes. They came right back up and cleaned our room. As we were heading down to breakfast we talked to a man who was doing new carpet in the whole hotel., They are doing ot floor by floor so they can still have floors open. They ae doing new carpet and wallpaper in the hotel. The hotel is very beautiful. If you have been to any hotel and had a breakfast this hotel will beat any of those hotels. The second day we were there we all woke up late and breakfast is over at 10 we got there right before 10 and were the only ones there. She refilled everything for us and would put the things we wanted right on our table. Very friendly and the whole staff was so kind. I will stay here again!!!

Had an excellent stay at the Ben Lomond Historic Hotel. Fantastic location to ski resorts, historic 25th St. Salomon Complex and walking distance to TRAX- Utah's very fine mass transit train/bus system. Excellent experience overall. Courteous friendly staff, OUTSTANDING breakfast, free WiFi and covered parking. Large rooms, perfect for solo or family traveling. I will be back!!!

If you're tired of cookie cutter hotels, stay at the Ben Lomond. Spacious suites and the rooms are quiet. The hotel lobby is remarkable. The new owners will bring you back to the days of charm and quality. Grand ballrooms, sweeping marble staircases, and craftsmanship you can't find anymore. Hotel is located downtown within walking distance of many excellent restaurants. All of the modern conveniences without the plastic.

Thank you for hosting us at your beautiful hotel. It's always nice to have the students get away from the hotel chains and see how it used to be in early times. Your staff was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to staying there in the future.

Sincerely,

Tony

My stay in the Ben Lomond Hotel in Ogden, Utah was the highlight of my trip. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the staff were friendly, helpful and competent. It was like stepping back into time with the comforts of today and was very restful and relaxing. The hotel is centrally located to downtown Ogden and is also located on historical 25th street with its restaurants, antique shops and galleries and is within walking distance of the Depot that also has museums. This was a business trip, but there are also shuttles to the local ski resorts. Well worth the visit.

I just wanted to write and say thank you to Heidi. She truly made our stay enjoyable. My wife and I were in town for the XTERRA championships and we were pretty needy customers. She fulfilled our every request. She was incredibly polite, friendly, and accommodating. If the race is in Ogden again next year, we will be sure to book our room with Ben Lomond Suites and be sure to tell our friends to do the same.

Thank you again,

Ken A.
